madeleine shaw on how to balance your mind & your body

Madeleine Shaw has been operating in the health and wellness space for over a decade. She developed IBS in her late twenties and since then has been on journey to optimise not only her own health, but share this knowledge with others. Today, she is a qualified nutritionist, yoga and meditation teacher with her own wellness platform, The Glow Space, whilst also being a mother to her five year old son.

We hosted an event with Madeleine earlier this year as part of our Wellbeing series, covering a range of topics and ideas about how to balance our minds and bodies despite the daily to-do list.

Here are three exclusive tips she shared with us about how we can improve our daily routines to make more space for ourselves and our wellbeing.

  • If you can work out in the morning : Prep the area the night before with your mat and bottle and sleep in a sports bra so you can get out of bed and on to the mat straight away. 20 minutes later you have done your workout no matter what the rest of the day holds.

  • Organise your fridge: So you can see everything and use up any left-over vegetables in a simple traybake to which you can add some protein too for a quick and easy meal any time of day.

  • Meditation is easier than you think: Often seen as daunting with the fear you are not doing it right because other thoughts come into your mind. However, this is normal, and it is a case of addressing them and continuing with your meditation rather than feeling like you haven’t done it ‘properly’.

If this sounds like something you would like to explore in more detail, we recommend looking at The Glow Space, a digital platform that brings Madeleine’s philosophy directly into your home - with unlimited access to her invigorating yoga classes, nourishing recipes, integrated meal plans and guided meditations.
